NewHorizons Open College (NewHorizons) exists as a profit making business aiming to promote responsible, moral and ethical holistic health therapies. All contact with the student is done via distance learning and therefore no face to face contact occurs. All correspondance is through email, telephone and postal communications. All distance learning courses are designed to give the student relevant and accurate (at the time of listing) information about the field of study, to heighten awareness and enhance their improvement only. NewHorizons and Nina Cree in no way accredit those that complete the course as being capable or qualified to practice in the field of study and any certification issued is merely to prove completion of the course and their standard of quality in completing the course.
NewHorizons and Nina Cree do not imply or state that students should expect to gain paid employment or qualification for practicing from completing any of the courses or that completion will guarantee any benefits other than self advancement and awareness in the field.
NewHorizons and its employees do not assume to be connected with any government bodies or regulators, or outside agencies other than memberships and registrations that are recorded and listed on the site.
NewHorizons is not an actual physical college or university, it does not have a campus and does not imply as such. All contact is via distance learning and can be made via email and postal communications. There is not an actual campus for students to attend or meet with tutors. We are a private business unattached to any official organisation. Therefore we are self-regulated and adhere to basic good practice and trading standards laws only. The business is not accountable to any outside agencies. Any certification given is given by us alone and only proves completion of an in house course. All students are to read the legal information printed here and are required to sign the terms and conditions disclaimer before acceptance and commencement of their chosen course so as to ensure students are aware of the service on offer.
All course fees are to pay for production and tutorial costs and all monies stay with the business. There is no refund procedure other than the 7 day money back guarantee (student to pay for the postage to return the course). After this point the full amount is payable regardless of whether the student completes or passes the course.
NewHorizons and Nina Cree will not be held responsible for any damages or loss of materials in the postal system. Proof of postage will be obtained for the student to see but the business will not be held responsible for any such losses. Replacement material will be offered at a charge. Students are advised to send their coursework and assignments to the tutor via recorded delivery to validate any insurances. Loss of coursework will mean students will have to complete it again in order to be awarded any certificate of completion. It is the student's responsibility to make back-up copies of their work in such cases to aid them in re-doing the work lost or damaged.
All students must complete their studies within one year of commencing their course. A further charge of £59 will be payable for extra tutorial support if the deadline of one year is exceeded.
Medical
Any information, methods or techniques given or implied by NewHorizons or Nina Cree is in no way to be seen as a substitute for medical advice or diagnosis. If symptoms of mental illness exist then a medical professional should be consulted. No responsiblity will be taken by the business or Nina Cree for any actions taken by the student. Information given is merely to give support and advice to students who are interested in taking up a career in the chosen profession. Any certification given is evidence only of completing a home study course. It does not qualify the student to work as a medical professional or use any certification given as evidence of this. NewHorizons and Nina Cree are in no way responsible for the actions of students during or after the course.
Data Protection
NewHorizons and Nina Cree adhere to the Data Protection Act 1998 and any data disclosed to the above will be kept in a confidential manner and contained in a safe and secure area away from public viewing. All information given will be kept for 5 years for future reference and will be accessible to the student upon request at any point within this 5 year period. After this time all details will be shredded unless requested by the student.
Client confidentiality is paramount to our services, however if the student is deemed to be in danger of harming themselves or others, this may be waived in order to protect the well-being and safety of the student or the general public. NewHorizons and Nina Cree accept no liability for actions taken by the student during or after the course. A signed copy by the student of the disclaimer form will be kept by NewHorizons as evidence that the student is fully aware of the above terms and conditions.
